CSF Rhinorrhea Management
Appropriate identification and treatment is essential for CSF Rhinorrhea as it may pave way for meningitis if left untreated. In most of the cases, surgery is required and its type depends upon the cause of CSF Rhinorrhea.
Surgical methods may include:
- Endonasal-Endoscopic technique (most preferred method), especially when performed using the vascularized pedicle graft (Haddad flap)
- Trans-cranial repair ( in the event of repeated endonasal failure or extensive cranial base reconstruction is needed)
